Cooking Instructions
To achieve the best results, Barilla recommends the following:
- Boil Water: Bring 1 litre of water to a fast boil for every 100g of pasta (approx. 5 litres for the full 500g box).
- Add Salt: Add about 7g (approx. 1 tablespoon) of salt to the boiling water.
- Add Pasta: Place the fettuccine into the boiling water. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Cooking Time:
- Al Dente: 6 minutes.
- Tender: 7 minutes.
- Note: While some standard Barilla blue box fettuccine takes 12–13 minutes, the “Collezione” version is typically optimized for 6 minutes.
- Drain & Serve: Drain well, but reserve some starchy pasta water to mix with your sauce for better adhesion. Do not rinse the pasta.
