The Barilla Linguine n.13 Collezione 500g is a premium durum wheat semolina pasta with a flattened, slightly convex shape designed to enhance various sauces, particularly those with fish and pesto.
Product Details
  • Description: Linguine, meaning “little tongues” in Italian, originated in the Liguria region of Italy. It is a long, flat, and narrow pasta shape. The Collezione range is crafted using traditional bronze plates (bronze dies) to create a rough, porous, “homemade” texture that helps the sauce cling perfectly to the pasta.
  • Ingredients: The pasta is made simply from high-quality durum wheat semolina and water.
  • Dietary Suitability:
    • Naturally low in fat.
    • Non-GMO verified.
    • Suitable for a vegan or vegetarian diet.
    • Low glycemic index, keeping you feeling fuller for longer.
  • Packaging: The packaging is a 100% recyclable cardboard box, without a plastic front window in current designs, demonstrating a commitment to sustainability.

Cooking Details
The recommended cooking time varies slightly by retailer (ranging from 8-10 minutes), so checking the specific package is advised. For the standard al dente texture:
  • Cooking Time10 minutes for al dente perfection. For a more tender result, you can cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
  1. Bring a large pot of water (around 1 liter for every 100g of pasta) to a fast, rolling boil.
  2. Add salt to the boiling water (approximately 7g, or 1 tablespoon, of salt per liter).
  3. Add the Barilla Linguine n.13 to the pot, stirring occasionally to ensure even cooking and prevent sticking.
  4. Cook for the time specified on the box for your desired texture (e.g., 10 minutes for al dente).
  5. Just before draining, reserve some of the starchy pasta water to incorporate into your sauce.
  6. Drain the pasta well (do not rinse) and finish by tossing it directly in the pan with your favorite sauce for a minute or two. This final step helps the pasta absorb the sauce’s flavor.
Linguine pairs particularly well with pesto, seafood, and light, vegetable-based sauces.
